A Lacy Scarf and a Lesson

This chevron eyelet scarf is worked in two different yarnsThis week’s free pattern from Classic Elite Yarns is the lovely Chevron Eyelet Scarf, a great project for summer when you need something to throw on in cooler moments.

In addition to being pretty and easy, this scarf offers you a lesson in contrasts because it’s shown worked in two different fibers — a baby alpaca/bamboo blend and an alpaca/merino/nylon sock yarn.

Both versions are pretty, but the version with bamboo has more shine and is a little cooler than the other. There’s a little more drape and silkiness to that version, too.

Neither one uses much yarn or would take all that long to knit, so you can try both and see the difference for yourself.

Which one do you prefer? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
