I love taking water with me when I leave the house (when it’s 100-plus outside, you kind of have to) but it’s not very convenient to carry around a bottle or a glass all the time. That’s why a water bottle carrier is a great help; you just carry it like a purse and it’s there when you need it.
The Knit Picks free pattern of the week is a striped and felted water bottle carrier from Mara Jessup. This cheerful pattern is mostly worked in a self-striping, medium weight wool yarn, but you could easily bust your stash and make your own stripe pattern with leftover bits of wool (with the understanding that they might not all felt at the same rate, which could make for cool or strange results!). To get the pattern, scroll to the bottom of the linked page, then click on the PDf in the top left corner.
If you like this one, go check out her other patterns for sale on the site, particularly if you like socks!
