I don’t know if I can fully express how much I enjoyed reading Kaffe Fassett’s autobiography, Dreaming in Color. It was so interesting to read about this master of color’s life (and the surprising fact that he went through a phase of painting white still lives!) and how he embraced so many different handcrafts with such great passion and skill.
His life has been creative from the start — raised in Big Sur, Calif., his parents founded Nepenthe restaurant, he attended a school founded by followers of Jiddu Krishnamurti and was surrounded by artists, musicians and other creative folks — and he has had encounters with all sorts of people, famous and less so, that have shaped his life.
The book is full of pictures of his creations, his travels and things that inspire him, so it’s safe to say it’s a colorful book as well as a colorful story. You will enjoy reading about this creative life and will probably be inspired to make your own life a little more colorful.

My favorite color is purple:)
It seems my favorite color is ALL of them. But I’m especially partial to green!
kaffe fassett is one of my heroes. i have been so lucky to have met him 3 times. his colorwork and attitude towards it, along with the skills of intarsia have changed my life. one of the times i met him, he asked any folks who had made any of his designs to wear them and walk across the stage where he was speaking. i was hugely pregnant at the time and was sporting his “foolish virgins” pattern in my sweater. we all had a good chuckle over that one. today, my favorite colors are lime green, pink and orange. it changes every day… just ask my daughter. she asks me every day. thanks for the nice posting.

Teal – a constant reminder of the ocean
My ultimate favourite colour is purple & all shades of purple. But I do like fall/autumnal colours too!
Gosh, I’m not sure I can pick just one favorite color. But I often find myself drawn to purples (of all shades) over other colors. This book looks amazing! Thanks for the great giveaway!!

my favourite colors are spring.And fall.Everybody needs to enjoy the colors while they can. Im going blind the colors are going dull so i try to enjoy them while i can.

Kaffe Fasset has been an inspiration for me for many years. I’m in awe of his talent to bring to life anything with subtle use of colour. I have completed several of his needlepoint patterns. I’ve never been able to pick a favorite colour, but love the richness created by combining them.
I am always drawn to blues when buying yarn and clothes, but purple is really my fave
