Noro. It’s not just a yarn, it’s an Essence!
Just the word evokes images of gorgeous colors and textures. Variegateds spanning the color spectrum. Muted and bright, pastels and combinations, I’ve never met a skein of Noro that I didn’t love. (and now, my LYS has Noro Sock Yarn!)
With that in mind, the folks at Sixth and Spring books have compiled 30 different designs from a plethora of designers into one book. The only thing they all have in common is *NORO*
Love. It!
And now, you can too!
Have you ever used Noro before? If you have, tell me about it, if not, tell me what you’d do with it.
This giveaway ends next Tuesday – June 28, 2011.

I have never used Noro before, but I would use it to make a lovely hat for my SO, or a pouch for some of my divination decks. The possibilities, really, are endless.
Love, love, love NORO!!!! I love it for felting, blankets, sweaters, scarves, hats…I love the colours, I love the texture….did I mention it I LOVE IT!
I made one felted bag that I love and have several skeins that I picked up at Stitches West waiting for a project, so this book would be great!
I absolutely love noro. Would like to try and knit with some of the yarn blends with cotton in them (Taiyo, for example). But, I am currently making a Lady Eleanor stole with Noro Silk Garden and I have felted with Kureyon.
I used Noro a couple of years ago when I made 2 felted bags for my nieces. One niece still uses hers – to keep her yarn in. It has a very nice hand and is easy to work with.
Yes! My husband needed a new hat this past fall, and asked me to make him Jared Flood’s “Turn A Square” hat. At the pattern’s suggestion, I used Noro Silk Garden (I let hubs pick the colorway), and I could not have been more pleased. It was a dream to knit with, and my husband loved the finished product. I’m currently knitting booties for bambina #2 (due in November) out of the leftovers.
I’ve knit a beautiful scarf with two balls of it … I love the colours! Thanks for the nice giveaway!
I’ve never used it before but I would be curious to know if it is super soft-feeling? I have been in chemo for almost 7 months now and my hair is long gone. I’ve been making hats (sewn and crocheted) out of various soft materials that won’t itch my head and trying to keep away from that “sick chemo chick” look and staying with “bald and funky and fun” and always looking for new and awesome ideas.
I’d love to give it a shot with Noro, and find out what wonderfulness evolves.
I have made one scarf with Noro silk garden, and I would love to use it again if I had some patterns!
Thank you for the great giveaway.
Ooooh, I’ve never used it, but it looks so beautiful! I would probably knit some household things like pillows and throws with something that pretty!
Haven’t used it yet, but was definitely fondling it at the yarn store last weekend! I’d make a little stole or something like that with it, probably.
I have yet to use Noro, but I hope to use it soon to make a skirt.
I have not used noro, but I am itching to get my hands on it. I love the self striping yarn and what gorgeous colors. I would make a colorful stole for myself. May be even design one, if I can.
have never used noro , but would definitely love to use it.
thanks for the giveaway
I have a skein of noro to try for socks. Is feels absolutely yummy and I can’t wait to cast it on!
I have not used Noro before but have admired the beautiful garments and such made with their yarns. Maybe some colorful mittens for next winter for a first Noro project.
AHHHHH! I have ALWAYS wanted to work with NORO – this yarn and everything made with it gorgeous!
i love long repeat yarns… I’ve used Noro in socks & scarves because they’re small. I’d love to see the larger projects in this book.
That looks like killer yarn for a pair of leg warmers!
I’ve not used it before, but when I do I may finally attempt to knit some long socks.
Wonderful yarn —knitted a pair of socks with Noro and felt like a million bucks! Love to knit some more
I just love the colors that noro yarn has, I would love to use it for the 10 stitich afghan pattern I just found, the varigation of stripes in the afghan would just jump out. And of course my new grandson would look even more gorgous wraped in its texture and colors.
I’ve never used noro before but I’d love to make shawl out of it. They are such rich and lovely colors.
I’m always open to new yarns and patterns, it keeps me out of the rut. Hope I can win, thanks.
I have never used Noro before or even heard of Noro before. I can imagine using Noro to make a winter sweater.
I have knit with Noro Kureyon. Love love love the yarn. I have only used it once in a sweater that I gave as a gift at the holidays.
i would like to use it for some nice arm socks!
I have not used Noro before but have been seeing a lot of great stuff knitted out of it lately. I would LOVE to try it. Everything I have seen is beautiful. I think I would like to make a beautiful sweater out of it.
I haven’t used Noro but I would love to make winter clothes from it
I’d totally learn to knit something more complicated than what i’m used to knitting.
I haven’t used noro before, but i’m definitely planning on using it soon (oh so many projects I’ld like to use it for!!) and some extra patterns are always welcome!
Thank you very much for this giveaway!!
I’ve never used Noro but I think it would make a beautiful shawl for a special occasion.
I love Noro – I’ve made one of those ribbed scarves with alternating colors of Noro, and it just looks so good! It is a little scratchy, but endlessly entertaining.
The coolest thing I used Noro in was a hat with stripes – noro was striped with a coordinating solid color. It came out looking so good! Plan to use it again for the same type of thing.
I would love to make a shawl with Noro! The yarns look so lovely.
I LOVE Noro!…have used it for felted items, hats, scarves, wraps…it’s so exciting to work with and watch the colors develop.
Love Noro. Have used Silk Garden for multidirectional scarves, Kureyon for felted bags – one entrelac. Really nice results. Still have some Kureyon in my stash so I could use some new ideas!
I can think of 50 things to make with Noro. Starting with socks and ending with the JUJU hat.
I am going to my LYS tomorrow and on my shopping list is Noro sock yarn. I have never done a whole project using Noro yarn, but have used small amounts of Silk Garden for accents on projects.
I have not used Noro yet but hope to soon, please enter me in your great giveaway!
Thanks
I’ve used noro yarns in a lot of projects but I think my favorite is a pair of mitered mittens (Elizabeth Zimmerman pattern) done in kuryeon.
I used Noro to make Askew: http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEsummer07/PATTaskew.html ! Very cute and kinda sexy over a black tee. Noro colorways are so pretty — but I found the silk garden skeins I used to be a little scratchy, with the occasional small piece of twig or leaf embedded in the yarn.
I also used Noro to make lizard ridge: http://knitty.com/ISSUEfall06/PATTlizardridge.html — LOVED the Noro Kureyon! And so exciting working with a ton of different colorways!
At first I was a little put off by scratchiness of the unwashed Noro, but after knitting my first shawl and washing it, I was hooked. I would love to win this book, thanks for the opportunity!
I have never used it before but it sounds fun to work with. Thanks for the giveaway!
I have not used Noro yet. I’ve seen what wonderful projects it makes up into, and would love to try. Thanks for the giveaway!

I haven’t used Noro yet. I have a few scraps that I think are Noro. I got them in a thrift shop bag of yarn. There is just enough to add a little accent to a hat.
I love the way colours in Noro blend even if they look like they shouldn’t go together. Wonderful fibres to work with – fun to make up and fun to wear. I’ve made a scarf with Silk Garden and have coveted a shell made with Tanabata. I love Noro’s patterns too – they are just beautiful and wearable. Just seeing a skein makes me happy.
I like the idea of using this for a shrug. I like the way the colors bleed into each other.
No, I didn’t! I can’t find them here in Portugal, but I heard so much about them that I would like to have this possibility!!!!
I have knitted a felted bag and a skirt out of NORO. Love it.
love noro. have made scarves from it and felted bags.
I have not used Noro but am looking forward to it. I have heard great things about it
No, I have not used NORO, I do have some & hope to start a project with it soon!
I have a great hat that I made out of Noro, would love to do some other projects.
Ilove Noro! I have been using it for years to make scarves and hats. Next I want to try an entrelac scarf
i have never used noro before but i would love a long waistcoat knitted with it …. It just looks soooooo lovely.
Noro is pretty much my favorite yarn! I got into it when I made the hurry up spring armwarmers from stitch n bitch and have never looked back!!
I just got two of my coworkers into knitting, and got them noro for their scarves so that endless rows of just knitting wouldn’t be too boring
They totally love it too!!
I am always on the look out for new patterns and to try my hand at different techniques and yarns. Noro is on my “wish list’s to do someday.” They have “juicy” looking yarns that I can’t wait to try….
Love Noro. I’ve made scarves from it, but would like to do more.
I’ve never used Noro, but love the bright colours. I would knit socks to brighten up a winter’s day!
I’ve used an ombre-dyed Noro silk yarn—purples, blues, greens, my favorite color combination! I simply made a scarf with it, in a drop-stitch pattern to show off the color changes.
I have never knit with Noro, but I would love to make a pair of socks out of the yarn.
I made the Barton Bag (a striped and felted bag from of a Noro pattern booklet) out of Kureyon and Silk Garden. I loved working with the Noro yarn, and I would love to make some of the patterns in the book.
