Giveaway: Knits at Home

knits at home giveawayCongratulations to Tina S!

Things are getting just a little crazy in my life right now. It’s about six weeks until my book is due to the publisher, and I still have a lot of work to do, plus an almost-five-year-old who’ll be home for a couple of weeks in the middle of it.

So, if you’re expecting a giveaway book from me, I’ll try to get caught up this week, but things are going to stay busy for a little while. I promise I’ll try to keep up.

This time in the process means I’m at home a lot, sitting on my couch, watching “Orange is the New Black” (I just have one episode left!) and knitting. And, frankly, thinking I ought to have more knit things around me in my house.

That’s where Knits at Home by Ruth Cross comes in (I reviewed the British release of this book, which was titled The Knitted Home.) It’s a super inspiring book that begins with the basics — little sachet bags worked in simple stitch patterns — and moves on to chunky cabled throws, framing swatches on the wall, pretty pillows, cushions, window shades and more.

I have one copy of this book to give away this week. For your chance to win, leave a comment on this post before the end of the day Sunday, July 20, and I’ll pick a winner at random.

Since I’m almost out of Netflix, why don’t you tell me something you’ve watched lately that you enjoyed?

Thanks for visiting, commenting and sharing, and good luck!

I haven’t been watching much tv, sorry. I have been listening to audio books while quilting though. Mostly fiction of all types.

Butterfly on a wheel is absolutely epic! I really love knitting whilst watching television and films too, such an effective way to multi-task. I’ve just started making things for my home but in need of inspiration :O)

Don’t watch much TV, but love watching DVD’s. We watch great films of any age group-from kids cartoons to very scary ones. But what I love most are animal related nature documentary ones.

The book looks fabulous, hope I win it. Fingers and toes crossed.

I love watching documentary films. I have HBO and have just watched the entire Autopsy films. One very good film I watched was An American Winter, which was near my hometown, Portland Oregon. It is a very real stark look at how people are dealing with job loss etc.

I’ve been binge watching Charmed lately and rewatching Arrested Development. Normally I’m a fan of period mysteries. Ms. Fisher’s Murder Mysteries was really good.

I don’t have netflix so don’t watch anything good on it. I need to knit more then scarves and maybe this book would help me with that

Midsomer Murders! I’ve watched all the episodes on Netflix and now I’m going back through them again. Love this show!

  10. Diana says

I watch too much TV! My current favorite is “Major Crime.” I also adore “The Walking Dead.”

I’ve been watching Star Trek shows on Netflix. LOL! I don’t want to watch blood and gore or even R rated stuff, so it is either cartoons or good ole shows like Star Trek.

I am exploring mixing not just yarns but patterns, and having a lot of fun with it. I love working with afghan patterns for this ongoing project as there is a lot of area to showcase small amounts of beautiful yarn in a few rows of a unique pattern I would never want to explore in a whole work!

I have afghans around the house. But that’s about it. I’m into crocheting with thread, it’s facinating and challenging. Right mow I’m the diva of doilies! The book sounds like it would fill a hole in my library.

I don’t know if it’s on Netflix, but I’m watching the fourth and final season of Treme on dvd. Definitely recommend this series, but do start with season 1.
