Giveaway: Lovely Knitted Lace

lovely knitted lace

Congratulations to our winner, Debbie!

This week I’m thinking about lace knitting again because it’s that warm and humid time of year when everyone has their air conditioners cranked so you need a little something to throw over your shoulders.

I went out this weekend without a wrap or sweater and regretted it, so I’m back to keeping something in my bag all the time.

This week’s giveaway is a copy of Lovely Knitted Lace by Brooke Nico.

This book looks at four basic shapes — triangle, rectangle, circle, square — and uses combinations and alterations of those shapes to make 16 fun projects, from scarves and shawls to sweaters, berets and jackets.

There’s a lot of fun stuff here, and some of the pieces are not all that difficult even if you’re new to lace knitting.

For your chance to win, leave a comment on this post by the end of the day Sunday, June 8, and I’ll pick a winner at random. Why don’t you tell me your favorite thing about summer? One of mine has to be fresh local strawberries, which are almost out of season already. So fleeting but oh so delicious!

Thanks for visiting, commenting and sharing, and good luck!

I absolutely love knitted lace patterns! They always look so comfortable and stylish. I even wear them in winter when wearing solid ,darker clothing underneath, it shows the pattern perfectly! I even receive more compliments than at other times of the year!
Thanks so much for the invite to this giveaway, I really appreciate it!

  2. Sylvia says

My favourite thing about summer is – packing away the winter parkas, hats, scarves, mitts. Oh and BBQ’s, ice pops, farmers markets and outdoor swimming. Our summers are way too short here in Alberta :)

  3. Iryna B. says

Oh, yes! I love fresh farm strawberries too! I also enjoy cool mornings and the fact that I don’t have to wear woolie socks!

  4. Andrea Johnson says

I have to say my favorite bit of summer is that we can be outside after dinner…I love to take a walk after dinner. Thank you for this giveaway.

  8. OHSue says

Love putting in my garden, not so in love with the weeding and upkeep.
This book has been on my Amazon wish list since I first spotted it.

  9. Lorinda says

I love the heat of summer; the chorus of frogs in the evening and sitting on the porch with friends sipping a nice, cold iced tea!

Longer days! I know, I know – what kind of answer is that for one of the Children Of The Night? Well, that’s why I like Winter – Longer Nights! You know, when it’s cold anyway? But Summer is warm, and warm is for longer days. Thanks for the giveaway.

  11. Laura says

The sweet, heavy smell that clings in the air at night, it’s just dreamy! Wearing white eyelet trimmed tops and cutoffs, sitting out on my deck surrounded by my abundant container garden. Oh my list could just go on!

  12. Theresa says

Summer means fresh veggies and longer daylight
hours. Plus I get to go ride roller coasters and go ziplining–two of my favorite activities. Thanks for the chance to win a fabulous book.

  13. Diana T. says

I love the long days (as opposed to the sun setting at 4:00pm in the winter!)Also, the warm temperatures and the fact that I can wear flip flops all the time.

  14. Julie Craven says

I’ve been planting and weeding in my garden now for three weeks. This is the second best part of summer. The first best, is the picking and eating right in the garden. Then the third, I don’t really look forward to it is the canning. I have a small kitchen and it gets really hot and humid when I’m canning for 5 or 6 hours.

  15. G.K. Green says

What I like most about summer is the more relaxed attitude and freedom from structured routine that most people seem to experience, at least part of the time, during the time that school’s out … even if they aren’t students, nor teachers. Thanks for another great giveaway!

  16. Carolsue says

My favorite thing is the tomatoes and flowers that grow in our garden in the summer

  17. asteride says

Longer days, enchanting sunsets, the ocean, the sand, and you can still knit light airy accessories. I love summer.

  18. Lorimae says

I do not walk. But am an avid knitter. I give everything I make to charity. Last year after losing a daughter and 2 grandchildren to cancer, I donated 200 hats and scarves to the hospital that served them well. This year I am making lap-robes. New patterns are so very welcome in my home. Thank you for this opportunity you’re giving to all your readers.
