Skill-Building Books Giveaway

skill building knitting booksI had so much fun giving away a bundle of books last week (and trust me, I have bunches and bunches to give away!) that I thought it would be fun to do another trio this week. This time I have books that are great for the knitter who wants to take things to the next level this year:

All three books aim to help knitters increase their skills with relatively simple projects, often using rectangles as the basis for bags, mitts, shirts and accessories.

To be eligible to win these books, leave a comment on this post before the end of the day next Tuesday, Jan. 22. If you want, why don’t you tell me what knitting skill you’d most like to learn this year.

The winner will be randomly selected from all entries. Good luck!

I’m trying to improve my knitting skills beyond just plain knitting and purling. I would love to learn a lot more about lace knitting – so many patterns, so little time.

I love new books on knitting. I love to learn new stitches and always are wanting new patterns, because I never like knitting a pattern twice if I can help it. I don’t know why this is but I have always done this. Thanks for the giveaway, and fingers crossed.

I have been knitting tor many years but there are several techniques that I want to learn. One of them is doing a cable and I am happy to say I have completed a pair of mittens with a cable in it! I want to master lace knitting too. I love those gorgeous shawls! I also need to improve setting in sleeves! There is always something new to learn or something to improve on.

Short rows – I have tried a couple of times but mess up the wrap and turn (actually the next row when you come back to the wrap and turn)

But love sweaters and scarves..so would love to learn how to knit those for myself and as gifts during the year. I have my grammas knitting needles,a whole sack full and have yarn for crocheting..which isnt my greatest talent..need to practice that more too.Love the knitted things even the gloves and socks. So if luck is on my side for this giveaway then maybe I can start a new hobby. So excited. Good Luck Everyone….

I will learn to knit socks. I tried once but had no time to finish. Getting older gets me more time so the time is near to knit again.

I love your site and check it frequently – here and on Facebook. I’d love to learn to cable this year. Been threatening to do it forever, but haven’t yet. And socks…just typing the work gives me the shudders. Maybe socks, too! Thanks for this wonderful site and for sharing it with everyone! Good luck to all on this giveaway!
