Jelly Yarn

May 18, 2007 |

This isn’t a “yarn” that we normally think of as yarn, a fiber containing natural or synthetic materials. This “yarn” is a plastic material. Jelly Yarn is not new, but I just “discovered” Jelly Yarn and I am very eager to use it to make purses. The material is available in a multitude of fun colors. I have been told that the trick in using this yarn is to use metal needles or hooks and keep some Armour All (yes, the stuff you use for cars) to make the needles slippery.

The people at Jelly Yarn have many purse designs and have kits available that include all materials used to make the pictured designs. Also available is a book showing other usage ideas for this yarn,

Have you started your Christmas gifts yet?
