It’s time for Knitty Deep Fall (even though it’s not fall yet. So. Close.) and there’s some great stuff in there to get you through to prime knitting season.
The cover project, Astronomer’s Beret by Merri Fromm, is a lovely hat anyway that’s made even cuter with the addition of embroidered constellations.
I also love Julie Robinson’s Lady, a ribbed sweater with bell sleeves that looks like the perfect thing for colder weather.
And who can pass up a mention of Bruce, a knit and felted shark? Designed by Frances Gillespie, it pays homage to the shark in Jaws, but I think the great white in Finding Nemo was named Bruce, too?
You’ll also find an overview of short row options from the always brilliant Kate Atherley and lots of other goodies.
See anything that catches your eye? I’d love to hear about it!
