I love knitting little projects for kids. In my experience, my daughter tends to be more willing to wear something warm if she knows I made it just for her in a color and stitch pattern she approved.
I think she would like the Harper Cowl by Weiyan Huang. The basketweave pattern makes it fun and the fact that it’s a cowl means there are no scarf ends to get in the way as you play.
There’s a matching hat or headband pattern as well, and mitts to come to complete the set if you know a kid who likes to match.
For the cowl, there are three sizes–toddler, teen and adult–so you can make them for the whole family. But it looks super cute on a kid.
