If you’re a knitter who knows their knitting history you know that our craft was built on the legacies of amazing, innovative, resourceful women. Some of them whose names we know — like Elizabeth Zimmermann and Barbara G. Walker, to name a couple — and many we don’t.
To honor the women who’ve made a difference in her life, Little Skein in the Big Wool designed the Phenomenal Woman shawl.
It’s an asymmetrical triangle that includes Garter Stitch, eyelets and a bit of brioche (she says it counts a s a beginner brioche project because there’s no shaping in the brioche part).
The original uses two colors but you could make it bolder by changing colors as the pattern stitches change, too.
The patter is available on Ravelry for $6.
