Because I’m pretty much always cold, I often end up wearing multiple layers, including a couple of sweaters at a time (usually a handknit and a storebought sweater, with a long-sleeved shirt for good measure).
The Spring Birch cardigan from Mother of Purl is a great layering option when you plan to wear a heavier sweater, too. It’s a simple raglan cardigan worked in sock weight yarn. And of course in warmer times of year you can wear it alone or keep it at hand for places with too much air conditioning.
She knit hers with a multicolored yarn for the body and a coordinating solid for the cuffs and button bands, but there are lots of possibilities.
You can grab the free pattern from her website.
