I guess we have a theme this week of knitting big, bulky, warm projects before the last of the cold weather is gone, because here’s another great one.
This cable lap blanket from the Feminine Touch is worked with two strands of yarn held together for extra warmth and speed of knitting. The braided cables look complex, but they aren’t too bad once you get the hand of it, and the stitches in between are just Garter Stitch, making the non-cabled bits go really fast. And the cable is shown both written out and in chart form so you can practice your chart reading skills or just use the words or the chart as you prefer.

It’s lovely in the soft pink chosen, but would be great in any color for a more masculine look or to suit your decor.

Fall will be here before we know it, and that means there are holidays coming right behind where we might be entertaining at home. It’s always fun to have a hand knit touch in your home for other people to see, and if you’re going to be in the kitchen all day you might as well have some nice knit dish cloths to use.
