I have made a few different cat hat patterns over the years, and I usually do them by knitting a “normal” hat and then knitting the ears separately and sewing them on (or picking up stitches at the top of the hat and knitting them to the hat itself).
But there is an easier way to make a super cute cat ear hat, as MomMade shares.
All you really have to do is knit your regular hat, but don’t decrease at the top. Just bind off, then sew the seam (you could probably also do it with a three-needle bind off if you wanted).
Then when you wear it, pop out the sides of the seam and you have instant cat ears with no effort.
Pretty cute, right?
