I have a tendency to knit big, bulky sweaters, which I love, but I don’t really have any handknit sweaters that a good for fall. Probably in part because I’m really lazy and it sounds to me a full-sized sweater knit in sport weight or lighter yarn would take forever.
But if you throw in some fun details, like a little bit of lace that looks like butterflies, it’s more fun to knit and probably will go a little faster, too.
The Estrella Pullover by Claudia Q from EweKnit Toronto would be great for fall. The sport weight yarn makes it light but not so fine that it will take forever to knit, and the lacy pattern on the front makes it more interesting that straight Stockinette.
It’s a top-down raglan pullover and it comes in 8 sizes, intended to be worn with about 6 inches of positive ease. You can get the pattern from EweKnit for $9 Canadian.
