This is not a new pattern, but it caught my eye in Lion Brand’s newsletter over the weekend and I know that I have to knit it right away.
The child’s playtime top is worked in two identical pieces with ties at the shoulder for a custom fit (though a commenter said those ties can get in the way of car seat straps, so you can also make regular shoulder straps and sew them together if that’s a concern).
It’s a pretty easy cotton number that would be great on its own for the rest of the summer but will also be a good layering piece when it’s a little cooler.
I think I even have some cotton yarn Ease around here somewhere!

Fall will be here before we know it, and that means there are holidays coming right behind where we might be entertaining at home. It’s always fun to have a hand knit touch in your home for other people to see, and if you’re going to be in the kitchen all day you might as well have some nice knit dish cloths to use.
