My Bluprint (formerly Craftsy) has had all their classes as watch for free for a while (and still will through 4/16 if you want to take advantage), and one of the classes I watched was form Xandy Peters.
You might not know her name but you might recognize her most famous pattern, Fox Paws. She’s the innovator behind what she calls stacked stitches, where multiple increases and decreases are stacked on top of each other to give parts of rows a different height and a really dramatic surface shape.
Unfortunately with the free classes you can’t download class patterns so I’m not 100 percent sure I’ve got the technique down, but I am feeling more confident about trying it.
And good timing that I have, she actually just released a new pattern, a scarf version of her Petal cowl called Petal Scarf, of course. She says its a good intro pattern for people who are new to the techniques, and the petal/fish scale motif is gorgeous in a riot of color. Isolation time is a great time to learn something new!
You can grab the pattern on Ravelry for $6.
