There aren’t a lot of garments that are designed with Thanksgiving in mind, but this pretty hat is perfect to wear for your walk around the neighborhood after the meal is over.
Thanksknitting by Katie Pomper is a bottom up colorwork hat with a pretty leaf motif worked in DK weight yarn. The sample uses a multicolored yarn for the leaves but you could make this with more traditional fall colors if you like.
And if you’re wondering about the name, the pattern was designed on Thanksgiving, and the designer, of course, is thankful for knitting.
You can get the pattern from Ravelry to knit on Thanksgiving, for Thanksgiving or any other time you like.

While I was knitting this baby blanket, my husband was curious as to why I was knitting a baby blanket when there are no babies in the near future that we know of. (What we know is kind of relative since some friends told us they were adopting a couple of years ago with less than a month’s notice.)
