Christmas Amigurumi Knitting Patterns

November 24, 2025 by Sarah White

A few years ago I did a post full of knit elves and gnomes to knit for Christmas, but there are a lot more options when it comes to Christmas knit amigurumi. Use these little characters as seasonal decor, ornaments or to give as gifts!

These little knit gingerbread people from Grey Bear Akswokrat are super sweet and would be great to knit up for a dramatic retelling of one of the many gingerbread man/woman/baby story books. They’re knit flat and while the slightly fuzzy yarn isn’t required it does add to the cuteness!

I really like snowmen as a motif in the winter months. Maybe because it’s a “Christmas” decoration you don’t have to put away when the tree comes down? Whatever the reason, if you need to add some snowpeople to your collection, check out this pattern from Warm And KnittedS. These snow folk have stitched arms as well as knit hats and scarves, so they’re ready for whatever the season has in store. They’re also worked on straight needles and call for sport weight yarn.

This Christmas moose from Evdjenia Amigurumi AU is so cute I don’t know how we’re still talking about it instead of knitting it right now. This one is worked in the round with a mohair blend yarn and the moose is perfectly accessorized with a sweater, socks and a little Christmas tree all its own. The pattern notes it is best for advanced knitters.

Let’s go from a moose to mice! Or a mouse-tivity scene, to be more precise. This knit nativity scene is filled with mice in costume, and everything is knit from the sheep to the wise men’s gifts to baby Jesus mouse’s little basket. The pattern is from Cillas Purls and while doing the whole set would be a lot of work, it’s a charming design you’ll love to display for years.

Looking for something a little easier? How about a knit penguin with a little striped scarf? This pattern from Cute Knit Toy has a sweater integrated into the body (or you can knit it plain) and a scarf knit separately. The pattern includes dozens of photos and videos in case you need help.

And this set of amigurumi ornaments from Huggable Bears is great to use on the tree or to make into keyring charms or zipper pulls for backpacks. The pattern includes Santa, a reindeer, snowman, penguin and gingerbread man. They’re worked flat and seamed, which can be a little fiddly but the results are worth the work.

Stitch Your Favorite Fruit on a Sweater

The other day I saw a post from Pinterest about trends for summer and it said one of them was “cultivating whimsy.”

Well, I don’t know where Pinterest has been all this time, but we’ve been cultivating whimsy here at Craft Gossip for a long time. I love sharing projects that are a little different, things that make you smile when you see them, and will make you smile when you knit them and wear them or use them.

Such it is with the Tutti Frutti tee knitting pattern from Bea Creative Knits.

This cute little baby tee is worked top down in the round with contiguous shoulder construction to shape the sleeve caps. There are short rows for the neckline and folded hems with picot edging at the hemline, neckline and edges of the sleeves.

All of this would be great on its own, but then there’s the addition of a super cute fruit icon, which is added with duplicate stitch. There are a lot of options, including strawberry, banana, orange, cherries, watermelon, lemon, blueberries, kiwi, peach, dragon fruit, apple and pear, so it’s likely you can add on your favorite fruit.

It is offered in eight sizes, to fit a bust measurement ranging from 28-30 inches (71-76 cm) to 56-58 inches (142-147 cm). The design is meant to be worn with around 6.3 inches/16 cm of negative ease, but you can choose the fit you prefer. There’s also optional bust and waist shaping included in the pattern if you want to make it even curvier.

This is considered an advanced beginner or intermediate project because of all the skills involved, but it’s sure to be a lot of fun even if some of these techniques are new to you.
