Lots of balaclava knitting patterns are pretty basic, which make sense since they are such a utilitarian item. But there’s no reason you can’t add a little flair.
Arne and Carlos added a bit of Fair Isle colorwork to the hat portion of their Ronja Balaclava, which can also be knit just as a beanie.
It uses four colors of DK weight yarn. It’s available for free from Rowan in English, French and German.

Fall will be here before we know it, and that means there are holidays coming right behind where we might be entertaining at home. It’s always fun to have a hand knit touch in your home for other people to see, and if you’re going to be in the kitchen all day you might as well have some nice knit dish cloths to use.
