I am doing all that I can to stay warm this week and looking at all sorts of patterns for warm things I wish I could speed knit to get through the current cold snap.
This double knit blanket knitting pattern from Purl Soho, designed by Jake Canton, caught my eye the other day, because the only thing better than a knit blanket is a blanket that’s double the thinkness.
If you’ve never done double knitting before, this is a great way to learn the process, because you’re working with a single color on each side rather than also knitting a colorwork pattern. Every inch you work a tack down row to keep the two pieces of knitting joined, but once you’ve got the basic techniques down this should be smooth sailing.
The pattern is available as a baby blanket or a throw and uses sportweight yarn.
