One of my favorite back-to-school knitting patterns that I’ve made was a simple pencil pouch worked in self-striping yarn and lined with fun fabric.
This EasyPeasy Pencil Pouch from HandmadeHandsome is slightly more complicated than my pattern in that it uses knit and purl on the same row to make a textured pattern on the pouch.
It’s really cute and super easy and a great way to brighten up your school supplies. Or give you a place to store your double-pointed knitting needles or other crafty supplies.

Sometimes when I’m scrolling through Ravelry a pattern will catch my eye as much because of the name as the look of the design (which is a little hard to see in those little thumbnails sometimes, anyway).
