Last year I shared a collection of knit rabbits for you to try for Easter/spring knitting, and I thought this year it would be fun to look at knit eggs, which led me to a few egg cozies and a couple of chicks as well. Because I have no focus. Enjoy.

Susanne Reese’s Eierei pattern (in German and English) is gorgeous worked up in primary and crayon colors as shown, but I’m sure they’d be lovely in whatever yarn you have to hand.
Kerry Robb’s Easter eggs are another simple, cute version you’ll want to knit a dozen of, in solids or stripes.
The Knitted Easter Eggs from Little Cotton Rabbits are such a cute little use of stash, because they have wee colorwork patterns on them. That also makes them great first colorwork projects because the scale is small and you’ll be done in a jiffy.
If you like your eggs teensy, try this one-inch-tall version from Tacie Himelright. It has stripes, too, so you can use up the really minuscule leftovers from other projects on these.
And Purl Soho’s Easter Egg Ornaments are delightful, too, if you make an Easter tree or want something to decorate your Easter basket.
Egg Cozy Knitting Patterns
The Easter Bunny Egg Cozy from marianna mel is adorable and I wouldn’t mind knitting them to put over plastic eggs instead of real ones. Check out her little Easter baskets, too. So cute!
Claudia Lowman has chick and duck egg cozies that are pretty cute, too. They are big enough you could stuff them and make them little dolls if you’re not into the egg cozy thing.
Hold the Eggs by Ellen Kapusniak are cute little baskets for your eggs to sit in rather than something that goes on top.
Knit Chicks
I can’t resist a good Alan Dart pattern (and they’re all good) and his chick and egg pattern is available for free. Knit the chicken and the egg and you can decide which comes first.
Chloe Blunn’s Easter Chick pattern is another cute and easy one, and she stuffs it with a chocolate egg to make it extra delightful.
And the Spring Chick pattern from Barbara Prime is such a cute little thing I almost can’t resist it.
Do you knit home things for Easter or spring? I’d love to know what you’ve made or what you are working on this year!

Thanks! I need to make me some bunny cubes! I noticed that the link to the Eierei pattern leads to your page of bunny patterns, instead of to her Ravelry page. And there’s no link for the Spring Chicks. Here they are:
