I’m a little obsessed with bunting, whether its made out of paper, fabric or knitting. It makes every day a little bit more of a celebration, don’t you think?
I made a simple red, white and blue knit bunting that’s great for Fourth of July or other patriotic holidays in countries that use red, white and blue (mine was originally for the Queen’s Jubilee). And I love the idea of using scraps (there we go on that subject again!) to knit a bunch of little pennants to make a colorful banner that could hang all the time in an office, craft room or playroom.
Classic Elite Yarns has a great pattern (designed by Susan Mills) for what they call a Celebration Banner worked in a bunch of different solid colors of their great Liberty Wool yarn. It’s super cute and simple and would be great to make for whatever you’re celebrating.
I’m celebrating a book coming out next week. I’d love to know what you’re celebrating, even if it’s just the fact that it’s Friday.
