I’m always on the lookout for masculine designs for hand knits. My other half couldn’t be bothered with hand knit socks (except since he’s seen the Progressive Insurance commercial where the gal tells Santa that she likes cashmere socks, he’s decided he wants some.) I really don’t believe he has half a clue what a cashmere sock is! But that’s another post for another day.
This design by Lois S. Young is perfect for the den or “man cave” as is now the term. I’m thinking a dark hunter foresty green tweedy type of yarn. Although one of these days I really have to get away from green, but for now it works!
The stitch pattern on this afghan was inspired by patterns on English Guernsey sweaters worn by fishermen.

Fall will be here before we know it, and that means there are holidays coming right behind where we might be entertaining at home. It’s always fun to have a hand knit touch in your home for other people to see, and if you’re going to be in the kitchen all day you might as well have some nice knit dish cloths to use.
