Simple Knitted Baby Booties Pattern

Introduction:
Welcome to this simple baby booties knitting pattern! This pattern is perfect for beginners and experienced knitters alike. Materials:

Worsted weight yarn
Size 8 (5 mm) double-pointed needles
Tapestry needle
Scissors
Gauge:
4 stitches and 6 rows = 1 inch in stockinette stitch

Sizes:
0-3 months (3-6 months, 6-12 months)

Instructions:

Cuff:
Cast on 24 (28, 32) stitches onto 3 double-pointed needles. Join in the round, being careful not to twist the stitches.

Round 1: K2, P2 around.
Round 2: P2, K2 around.
Repeat rounds 1 and 2 until cuff measures 1.5 inches.

Leg:
Change to stockinette stitch (knit every round) and continue knitting until leg measures 2 inches.

Heel:
Divide stitches evenly onto 2 needles (12 (14, 16) stitches per needle).

Row 1: Slip 1, K11 (13, 15). Turn.
Row 2: Slip 1, P11 (13, 15). Turn.
Repeat rows 1 and 2 for a total of 10 (12, 14) rows.

Foot:
Knit across the heel stitches and pick up and knit 12 (14, 16) stitches along the side of the heel. Place a marker to indicate the beginning of the round. Knit even in stockinette stitch until foot measures 3 inches from the heel.

Toe:
K2tog around. (12 (14, 16) stitches remaining)
Next round: K around.
Repeat these 2 rounds until 4 (4, 6) stitches remain. Cut yarn, leaving a long tail. Thread tail through remaining stitches and pull tight to close the toe. Weave in ends.
