There is just something about little kids in knits. Everything looks a little cuter when it’s on a baby or toddler. (I guess that’s why I’m writing a book on the subject!)
But I’m actually pretty sure this Leaf Yoke Cardigan from Lion Brand Yarn would be cute all on its own. This pretty bottom-up cardi is worked in one piece with a lot of ease so the child can continue to wear it for a long time.
It’s rated for experienced knitters thanks to the leafy lace on the yoke and the smocking-like cable stitch on the body of the sweater. It’s sized for kids up to 24 months, but with the built-in ease I think older kids could wear it, too. I may just have to test that theory…
