Sometimes you just want a relatively mindless knitting project that is easy but nonetheless pretty and comforting. That’s the Renewal shawl pattern by Helen Bingham in a nutshell.
This pattern, available via free Ravelry download, is a large striped rectangle worked in three different fibers using garter stitch and stockinette stitch. It includes buttons so that you can wear it as a wrap that will hold to your body a bit, or you can just use a shawl pin and leave off the buttons entirely.
This project is really pretty in the chosen yarns, but something like this would also be a great stash busting project if you had a quantity of a couple different colors of yarn. I’ll bet I could make something like this right now out of the random bits of blue and green yarn in my closet. Hmmm…
