I love the Purl Bee and want to knit or craft just about everything I see on there. That’s certainly true of the latest knitting pattern to be posted on the site: Sporty Striped Peds.
These simple shorite socks will take no time at all to knit because there’s not really any leg to it: just knit the cuff, the heel flap, turn the heel, knit the gussets, the foot and the toe and you’re done!
The socks use two skeins of the gorgeous Koigu Premium Merino, as well as tiny portions of six different colors, used for one-round stripes around the foot. You can buy little skeins of this yarn sold as needlepoint yarn, or use something of similar weight from your stash. Or just make a plain sock if you want. Either way your feet will be enjoying a bit of summer comfort in almost no time (as socks go, anyway).

While no one would likely use a knit backpack for school, knitting a backpack is a fun way to show off your knitting skills and carry around your project or everyday essentials instead of using a purse. Check out these cute backpack knitting patterns and stitch one up for your next project.
