I love that knitter Woolly Wormhead refers to this pattern as “a chatty recipe,” because it’s the sort of thing you can make with whatever yarn and needles you have around and it will still make a really cute little hat.
More formally the pattern is known as Minikins, and it calls for DK yarn “or thereabouts” and needles a couple sizes smaller than you’d normally use with the yarn you choose (so they finished project will be “firmish;” I love it!).
However you make it these wee hats will be done in a hurry. You’ll want to make a bunch to decorate a tiny tree or make a pint-sized garland for the fireplace — or the dollhouse. Too cute!
