I love the story behind the Helgoland Mitts by Knitting and So on because they sound exactly like the way I design. She had the idea back in 2014, but between trying things out, setting them aside, knitting them and actually writing the pattern (I’m the worst about not doing that part) they only just recently became a published pattern.
I’m glad they did, though, because they look like a lot of fun to knit and to wear and just the thing we all need for gift-giving: something small that doesn’t take that much time but still looks impressive.
And if you also need your knitting to be fun? These mitts are worked from the thumb out, which is pretty darn interesting.
I might have to make a par or a few myself.
