I love knit tops throughout the year, but I don’t have a lot of summer tops that are knit. As I’m trying to focus more on making my own clothes this year, I feel like I need to add some more summery options to my queue, and the Trellis Tee knitting pattern from Mother of Purl would be a great option.
It’s a kind of long top that’s Garter Stitch on the back and mostly Stockinette on the front, with a leaf lace panel running down one side. The split hem adds to the airflow for hot days and makes it great for layering over flowy dresses and skirts.
It uses sport weight yarn (a new one from Knit Picks that I’ll be trying out and sharing more about soon!) and the pattern includes tips to make if fit you perfectly whatever your size.
You can grab the pattern from the Mother of Purl website for $4.
