I’ll admit I almost never knit for my husband. He’s one of those guys who is warm all the time, I somehow think he wouldn’t enjoy knit socks and he only wears a scarf (one of mine) when he’s about to go on a snow walk with the girl.
But some guys might like knit things more than I assume my husband would, so, in that spirit, here are some knitting patterns you might want to try on a special guy in your life (also see my roundup of patterns over at About).
Lion Brand has a nice pair of socks with a simple flag pattern that isn’t too fancy or fussy for dads (or for knitters).
And since I mentioned vests the other day, this cabled one from Yarnspirations is a great choice for guys who might not like full-on sweaters.
I love this Noro iPad sleeve by unionmaid, and looking for iPad sleeves also led me to the Doctor Who-inspired sleeve from The Knit Guru.
Which took me down a rabbit hole of knitting geekery, since that’s what would suit my husband best.
For math geeks, try a pi hat from Yarntherapy or a binary patterned scarf by Christine Dumolin.
Or there’s a Jayne hat (this one’s from Dryope), some Harry Potter gear or Stars Wars golf club covers.
Are you knitting anything for a guy in your life this Father’s Day? I’d love to hear about it!
