I came across a link to the blog of Woolly Wormhead, a UK knitter who is part of the artists’ commune Mutonia. She reports that the site of the commune is under threat and in order to maintain their way of life for the 20 or so people who live there they are fighting legal battles and working with architects and administrators to get their lives back to normal.
All of that costs a lot of money, of course, so she’s doing her bit to raise funds by selling a couple of hat knitting patterns that she’s designed: Tangled River and Lenina. Proceeds from the sale of these beauties (which cost £3 each) will benefit the commune; there’s also a donate button if you rather make a larger contribution.
