Finger knitting is typically thought of as a simple way to “knit” a few stitches at a time and make small projects, and it’s often used as a gateway to fiber arts and knitting for children.
But you can make bigger projects with finger, knitting, too, as this tutorial for a finger knitted blanket from Simply Edged explores.
I would say it is more like finger crochet, because it involves making a chain and working into the stitches one at a time back and forth in rows like you would do with crochet. But the effect is sort of like knitting, too.
