I have made T-shirt yarn before, and while it’s rather a tedious process it is pretty fun to knit with, and it is a great way to reuse shirts that might be stained or otherwise unusable.
Here’s another method for making yarn from T-shirts, from the blog Cucicucicoo. This one makes the shirt into individual strips that are then joined together; my version linked above makes a continuous strand out of one shirt.
Either way this is a really interesting material to work with and you probably have everything you need to experiment with it available in your house right now.
Have you ever worked with T-shirt yarn? I’d love to hear about it!
