I love knitting baby hats. They’re so quick and easy and you can do all sorts of techniques in them on a small scale. And babies look cute in anything, so you can make them a little more wild, colorful and fun than you might make an adult hat.
This Ocean Waves Hat would be great in any size, though. Designed by Little Red Window, it uses a variation on a special drop stitch pattern known a seafoam stitch, which is really fun and easy to knit and makes a project go super fast.
This is a great hat to knit for a summer baby, because they still need to keep their heads warm but the drop stitches make it a little more airy, and allow it to stretch to fit a multitude of heads (though sizes are given for newborn, six months, 12 months and 2T).
