I love knitting baby blankets because they give you a chance to play with a motif or stitch pattern on a relatively small scale.
The Sweet Cables Baby Blanket from purl3agony uses a chunky yarn and a sweet stitch pattern to make a warm blankie for baby that knits up in a jiffy. The cables are not that difficult but they have an added design element of eyelets to make them a little sweeter and more baby-appropriate.
This would be a great one to get started for all those people announcing their fall and winter babies right about now!
Do you like to knit baby blankets? I’d love to hear about your favorite patterns.

Fall will be here before we know it, and that means there are holidays coming right behind where we might be entertaining at home. It’s always fun to have a hand knit touch in your home for other people to see, and if you’re going to be in the kitchen all day you might as well have some nice knit dish cloths to use.
