Here’s a fun idea to encourage reading among kids and frog lovers. Toothless Knitter has a pattern (or more of a description of a process, really) for a flat frog bookmark, which, despite its gruesome name, is actually really cute.
She explains how she made the frog body, then picked up stitches for the head, stitching up the eyes and finally knitting the arms and legs.
There are a lot of little parts but it’s pretty easy knitting. The head and parts of the arms can stick out of the book when you use it as a bookmark.
She also has a flat rat bookmark if that’s more to your liking.
Would you stitch up one of these? I think my daughter would like the frog.
