And speaking of knitty Advent things, this pattern from Red Heart’s 12 Weeks of Christmas is a great one that could be made into an Advent calendar type arrangement (though, admittedly, it would probably have to be for next year).
The Bright Hats and Mitts Garland shows enough hats and mittens — worked in bright colors of Super Saver — to get you through the Advent season. They’re small enough to be pretty quick knits but big enough to hold a little treat. And they’re all just looped onto a crocheted chain with their own little loops of chain, so the finishing is quick and easy.
Wouldn’t this be adorable as a stash busting project, too? I love the idea of using yarn you’ve previously used to knit other things for your family. Then it becomes an heirloom in more ways that one. Awww…
