Though I haven’t actually started any holiday knitting yet, I am thinking about it, and I think this textured knit hat from Mama in a Stitch is going to end up on a lot of people’s holiday gifting knitting lists.
It’s a simple slouchy beanie worked in Seed Stitch in the round with no shaping at all, so its great for beginners and will give you lots of practice knitting and purling.
Once you get into the rhythm of changing stitches every stitch, it gets easier and kind of mechanical, making a project like this go faster than you might expect.
Are you knitting any holiday gifts yet, or have you already? I’d love to hear about it!

I just finished a cabled Christmas stocking for a women’s shelter (my whole family already has stockings), and I’m planning two hats for family members, a bunch of gift card holders, and probably more. Better get off the computer and knit!
