Knitwear designer Kate Barrios has launched a knitalong for her latest design, the Cerezo en Flor cardigan, which will take place over eight weeks beginning next month.
The pattern is a lacy cardigan made with The Fibre Co. yarn. It’s worked flat from the bottom up in pieces and has a loose, flowing kimono-like design with a lace pattern inspired by cherry blossoms. Kate says the pattern is great for intermediate knitters.
There are discounts on the pattern before the knitalong starts on May 6 (get the details on her website) and the knitalong will run through June 30, with weekly prizes from indie designers and a few great grand prizes (a Bluprint knitting box, a sock set from Crafty Jak’s, and a hank of The Fibre Co.’s Terra yarn with a mitten pattern).
Check out the knitalong page for all the details on the yarn used for the original, kits made especially for the knitalong and how to take part. The event will be hosted on her Facebook page and will include live streams weekly for learning and talking about the pattern.
This sounds like a great event and a fun way to get a sweater that will be great for spring and summer!
