It may not seem like it just yet, but cold weather is right around the corner for us in the Northern Hemisphere. There’s been the tiniest bit of chill in the air the past couple of mornings where I live, enough to remind me I need to finish that tank top I was knitting, stat, and get on to some warmer clothes.
If you’d like to snuggle under a warm handknit blanket this coming winter, check out this super easy pattern from Smiling Colors. Using Stockinette Stitch and four strands of yarn held together, the project is worked in blocks that are then sewn together.
You could also work it in panels for a little less sewing. This one is queen sized but you could easily make it bigger or smaller.
(And if you’re wondering how you would sew those pieces together, check out my tutorial on mattress stitch. It’s really easy!)
What a great way to add some warmth to a room and use a lot of yarn in the process.
