Knitting a big triangle to use as a shawl or a wrap is not that difficult to do. It only requires you to know how to make increases so you can form the triangle shape.
Mama in a Stitch shows just how easy it is with her Knit Shawlette pattern, which uses two skeins of a pretty multicolored yarn and big needles to make the project fast and fun.
She also threw in a few rows of dropped stitches (where you wrap the yarn around the needle more than once as you form the stitch, then drop the extra wraps in the next row) to give it a more open look, but you can just work it all in regular Garter Stitch as well. Just remember your yarn overs at the beginning of each row to keep the shape going.
Very fun. Are you still knitting for summer? I’d love to know what you’re working on.
