I am a big fan of little blankets. We have blankets everywhere — knit ones, sewn ones and store-bought ones — that we use for picnics, fort building, snuggling under to watch movies and all sorts of other purposes.
This Blanket for Playtime from Red Heart looks like a great one to add to your blankie collection, and you can easily make it the favorite colors of the kiddo who will use it most.
Pick a solid and a coordinating multicolored yarn, grab the easy pattern, designed by Melody Rogers, and you’ll be well on your way to a new favorite snuggly.

We’re a big Studio Ghibli household, and while they are sometimes very protective of their copyrights (as evidenced by the number of patterns on Ravelry that were removed from the service when it received a takedown notice back in 2021), there are still a fair number of Totoro knitting patterns (as well as other designs I’m sure we’ll get to someday). Let’s check them out!
