Knitters sometimes have trouble coming up with things to knit that they can still wear when it’s warm out. So I really like this Little Rectangles Summer Scarf from Knitting and so on, both because it’s really cool and striking and because it’s great to wear even when it’s a little warm out.
The project is made up of modular knit rectangles that are joined together as you knit but that line up so that there are gaps between them. Worked in fingering weight yarn, it’s lightweight and cozy, and the self-striping yarn makes it look a lot more complicated than it is. Once you have the joining method down this is a pretty easy knit but it’s sure to get noticed by knitters and non-knitters alike.
What do you knit for summer (or in summer)? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
