Now that there’s a little bit of a chill in the air in the mornings where I live, I’m definitely thinking ahead to the cold days that are just around the corner.
I’m actually knitting a super scarf right now that I’m hoping will be done in time for me to enjoy it (it’s probably almost three feet long by now, but I have a long way to go).
If you like the bulky look but don’t want to knit something quite that big, check out the giant ribbed cowl from Mama in a Stitch.
It’s a rectangle of ribbing, super simple, and the placement of buttons determines how you can wear it. Because it’s such a big yarn, you don’t even have to make button holes, which gives the project even more flexibility.
This is a great basic pattern that would also be fun for gift giving. Knit it all in one color as shown, or do color blocking or stripes if you like.
Are you knitting any big accessories for the winter? I’d love to hear about them.
