I know some people are intimidated by knitting hats. If you’ve never worked in the round before and you’ve never done any shaping, it can be a little scary to work your first hat.
But really, there’s nothing to it, and you can knit yourself a basic hat in no time and you will immediately wonder why you were so worried.
The Basic Horizon Hat by Susan Mills for Classic Elite Yarns is a great learning hat. The yarn does all the work to make this hat pretty while you just work a bit of ribbing and a lot of stockinette. Because this hat is meant to be slouchy, there are both increases and decreases, so by the time you’ve finished this hat you’ll be ready to take on just about anything.
Were you (or are you) afraid of hats? They’re so much fun! I hope you’ll give this one a try and let me know if you do!
