I never totally know what posts are going to strike a chord with people when I share them. I mostly share things that I like, that I would knit if I had infinite time to make them. (In reality I almost never knit anything I share here, but I can dream!)
So it was a little bit of a happy surprise when the post about the fish bag knitting pattern took off. I mean, I liked it and thought it was funny, and maybe a good thing to knit for back to school, but I’m glad that other people liked it, too.
In that same vein today I share with you this adorable little lemon pouch bag charm from Aleksandra So?owianiuk. This wee little pouch is a great size to hang from the strap of your bag or on a backpack, or you can tuck it into your bag to hold lipstick, earphones, or any other little thing you need to carry (and also be able to find inside your bag).
The pattern uses DK weight yarn for the body of the lemon and fingering weight yarn for the drawstring and leaves. This is a great way to use up a tiny bit of stash if you happen to have some green sock yarn lying around. In total the project uses about 66 yards of yarn, and it looks like it would be a pretty quick project to.
It’s worked from the bottom up with a little bit of shaping to make the lemon shape. The drawstring is an I-cord that you can use to attach the bag to another bag (or you could add a D-clip or a keyring looped into the drawstring if you’d rather.
This project looks like a lot of fun and might inspire you to try to make other bags shaped like fruit. Check it out on Ravelry.
