Now that I’m not working on a book any more, I’ve been making it up to my daughter by knitting her some stuff for a change. And I’m pretty sure if she saw Vickie Howell’s newest pattern, the Scardey Cat Cardi, she would want it to go to the top of the to-knit list.
This cute striped cardigan is sized for kids aged 2, 4 and 6 and is worked from the top down with short sleeves (if you live somewhere cooler you could always make longer sleeves).
The cutest detail of all, though, is the little patch pockets shaped like cats. Adorable.
Vickie’s version is worked in black and white, but I happen to have some magenta and gray in that yarn (book leftovers, naturally) that would be really cute, too.
